Checking Facebook has become a regular habit for many of its more than 800 million users. To emphasize the social impact it has on our society, take a look at how Mercedes-Benz USA is bringing Facebook to its cars …with a special version of a built-in Facebook to its in-vehicle telematics system where drivers can access a list of nearby friends, or restaurants in the vicinity of their friends.
I don’t know… I’m just not that personally reliant on social vehicles (pun intended) to accommodate such a pervasive supply of them in my life. I must be older than I think I am because this just doesn’t appeal to me.
Breathing new life to the phrase, “social vehicle” is definitely bringing attention to Mercedes-Benz as a trailblazer for building a social vehicle using Facebook. I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see this feature in a lot more vehicles down the road (another pun).
